National Elevation Portal (NEDF-Portal) Beta Version 1.0 Release

Digital elevation data which describes Australia's landforms and seabed is crucial for addressing issues relating to impacts of climate change, disaster management, water security, environmental management, urban planning and infrastructure design.

The National Elevation Data Framework (NEDF) vision is to ensure that decision makers, investors and the community have access to the best available elevation data to address the needs of today and the decades ahead.

The NEDF-Portal has been developed to serve as a 'Virtual Data Repository' and on-line portal that allows easy discovery and access to existing elevation data holdings and metadata. The NEDF-Portal will progressively be populated with data and links to national, state, local and commercial data custodians. If you have feedback on technical issues; are planning to acquire elevation data; have data you would like to contribute; or are aware of data that has not been in included in the portal, please email: elevation@ga.gov.au.
